It Feels Like 1935

The UN Darfur resolution against Sudan's oil industry just got a lot less convincing, with the United States taking the "shall take" line and replacing it with "shall consider".

Huh? Aren't they "considering" oil sanctions now? Or are they blocking that thought from their collective minds or something? "Must not think about oil sanctions until another 100,000 people are dead... ..."

Just remember the last time the international community failed to implement meaningful sanctions against aggression in Africa.

And a note to Reuters: AP called it "eased off"; you guys called it "modified". Talk about getting euphemistic.
