Dickens He Ain't

So Mr. Spider Hole's newest novel has just been released to the public (via Neale). I think I can judge Saddam Hussein based on his actions much more easily than his words, so I can't offer anything particular insight. He's evidently not a great writer, which doesn't surprise me.

But, of course, some people are paid to analyse people like Saddam and then write about it. So I present Daniel Pipes' take on Be Gone Demons. Jo Tatchell, meanwhile, discusses Saddam in the context of other totalitarians who fancy themselves literary giants, investigating the genre he (?) calls "dic-lit"

Maybe I can give better commentary if I didn't chuckle every time I read the term "dic-lit". ;-)
