A New Iraqi PM?

The Washington Post reports that a Shiite former nuclear scientist who opposed Saddam's nuke plans and was imprisoned may become the new interim Iraqi PM.

From first appearances, Hussain Shahristani looks to be a good, moderate choice. However, I fear that a choice with such little political clout would probably be susceptible to manipulation (if not coercion) from UN kleptocrats, pan-Arabists (oh look Brahimi is both of those), Iranian mullahs, Foggy Bottom hacks... ...and a whole load of other groups whose self-interest contradict those of the people of Iraq.

UPDATE (May 26, 06:30 PM): Well that was over pretty fast. As I mentioned already: probably best not to have someone that's politically completely vulnerable at such an important post.
