A Forgotten Corner In The War Against Jihadists 

Buried in the "More Top Stories" section of Google News is the report that possibly up to 600 people were killed and 30,000 others lost their homes in fighting in Kano in northern Nigeria. Several hundred were killed in central Nigeria a week earlier. Fighting between Christians in the south and Muslims in the north of that country has become ever more intense.

I don't recall it ever getting this nasty on a "bad" day in Iraq.

As Africa's most populous country and a major oil producer, with a large Muslim population bent on imposing Sharia and heavily influenced by foreign militant Islam, Nigeria may become a major destabilizing factor in the region with global reprecussion.

Meanwhile, news from that country languishes in the "More Top Stories" section... ....
