A War On Two Fronts
So now the Iraqi insurgents are kidnapping Chinese citizens too? Since it is impossible to withdraw nonexistent PLA forces in Iraq, I say the PLA sent troops to Iraq and kick some insurgent ass.
Seriously, though, this incident demonstrate the true seriousness and nature of this "uprising". The insurgents are kidnapping foreigners without regard for their real geopolitical significance because their objective is to play the media, making mountains out of molehills... ...no, anthills. Kidnapping Chinese citizens won't the slightest difference in the diplomatic or geopolitical scene. It will, however, freak Americans out. So there are two fronts in this war. The war in Iraq itself is something that will be fought by the soldiers and marines of the Coalition. The war for the hearts and minds of the people of the world, however, can be fought by all of us.
